Wexford Arts Office works to ensure artists are supported to make great work that can be enjoyed by all. Professional artists of all disciplines who live and work in County Wexford are valued members of the community who make a distinctive contribution to our quality of life. Wexford Arts Office recognizes that, in partnership with others – chiefly the Arts Council – it has a responsibility to provide financial and other assistance to artists, so that they can be supported in the making and presentation of their work and in their professional development. Furthermore, Wexford Arts Office is committed to facilitating high quality engagement between artists and the public, most especially where artists work in community contexts and in health, education and other social settings. We believe that members of all ages in the Wexford community should have access to a contemporary arts programme to inspire, innovate and challenge the creative thought process. To support this belief, we deliver an arts programme of excellence for life and for all with emphasis on contemporary arts practice, participation and education and inspire creativity in the Wexford community Wexford Arts Centre recognizes the value and significance of the visual arts for cultural development and strives to develop a clear identity for its visual arts activity and deliver an exhibition programme of high quality. We aim to provide opportunities for professional artists, including those at the early stages of their careers, and originate and produce exhibitions and programmes for touring to other venues. We deliver a visual art education programme to encourage active participation in the analysis and production of contemporary visual arts, and a professional development programme for visual artists to encourage critical analysis and debate, and the production of new work in different contexts. Wexford Arts Centre’s exhibition programme embraces all media, including but not limited to: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, film and video, live and performance art, installations, crafts, and emerging technologies. ARTS CAMPUS, SOUTH EAST TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY
Arts Campus of the South East Technological University offers Degree Courses at BA and BA (Hons) Levels. The courses are run by vibrant and dedicated staff who are active in research and practice, in art and design, in writing, criticism, curation, making and exhibiting their work, including public art and community-based art and design. Students studying at the Arts Campus of the South East Technological University gain a strong sense of creative focus and significant understanding of place and context. By studying in a close creative community, students develop and expand their creativity with the ability to sustain a unique art or design practice and world view.
